Thank you for visiting Cumberland Diabetes Center. We provide personalized treatment through medical, nursing, and dietary services that are meant to help prevent and manage diabetes or obesity. Our office is led by our director, John Sherrill, MD. Together, with our certified physician assistant and family nurse practitioner, our healthcare team has more than 20 years of combined experience. Our office is affiliated with Cumberland Medical Center and is a proud member of Covenant Health.

Halls residents Gailen and Melanie Porter recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Thanks to the life-saving care they both received at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center last year, they are working on year number 51.Last fall, they both came down with COVID-19. But as Melanie recovered, her husband’s condition worsened. One day, Loudon County resident Brenda Gentry collapsed while standing in her garden. She was having a stroke and could not feel the left side of her body.
